1947 Manufacture of Motors begins: Bharat Bijlee pioneers the production of electric motors in India.
1954 Transformer production begins.
1958 Siemens AG collaboration: Technical collaboration and distribution agreements with Siemens AG for motors and transformers.
1966 Kalwe plant is commissioned for manufacture of motors and transformers.
1968 Monoblock Pumps are developed for agriculture.
1971 Silver Jubilee Twenty five years of progress.
1973 Olympus Elevators The first Olympus elevator is installed in Mumbai.
1973 Special purpose motors and axial flow fans are delivered to the Indian Navy.
1977 Elevator business goes national: The first Olympus Elevator is sold in New Delhi, the first step towards setting up a national sales and service network.
1980 The direct marketing of transformers is taken over from Siemens, marking the first step in the transition from a pure manufacturing company.
1981 The transformation from a functional to a product divisional organisation fosters business focus and market-orientation.
1982 The first 220 kV transformer is delivered.
1982 Commencement of Projects Division to undertake turnkey electrical projects involving EHV-substations and industrial electrification.
1984 The new R&D Department begins development of specialised drive systems.
1986 The millionth motor is sold.
1986 Schindler collaboration: A ten-year collabortion for elevators is formed with the Swiss Schindler group.
1990 The direct marketing of motors is taken over from CCI by a new, regional sales and distribution network.
1996 Golden Jubilee Fifty years of enterprise, focus and dedication in putting technology to work.
2002 The new Olympus Gi500 Range of elevators for premium commercial and residential buildings.
2003 Transformer Plant Expansion The new manufacturing bay enhances capability / capacity.
2004 Divestment of Elevator operations The Elevator field operations business is divested to a subsidiary of Kone Elevators (India) Pvt. Ltd.
2006 New Transformer Factory Pwrlex -A new world-class facility for power transformers is inaugurated, tripling the manufacturing capability.
